44. That was the week that was Tremper week!

Looking back on the last week we had 6 new baby Tremper type albinos hatch out. Above are 4 of them with the other 2 already announced on previous posts. The top baby hatched on incubation day 53 (21/06/2010) and weighed 3 gram. Parents are Scarlett ( RAPTOR) and Nero (Diablo Blanco) both bred by herpetoculture, USA.

Second in the list hatched out on incubation day 59 (22/06/2010) and weighed 3 gram. Must say a very nice partial reverse stripe which must be passed on from the Sire. Parents are Jungle Jane (tremper eclipse with jungle pattern bred by herpetoculture, USA) and Pharoah (reverse stripe Tremper albino bred by what was homegrown geckos).

Third from the top is the sibling of the baby in the top picture. She burst out one day later on incubation day 54 (22/06/2010) with a weight of 3 gram. Possibly a RAPTOR which we will confirm after a close look at her mince pies.

Finally the baby in the lower picture is the sibling of the baby in the second picture down. She hatched out on incubation day 60 and topped the scales at 4 gram.

These pictures were taken on 28/062010.

43. Welcome to Polokwane our new squad member.

This is Polokwane a African fat tail albino who we bought at the IHS Doncaster show 20/06/2010. Fingers crossed we can get her up to our breeding weight of 55 grams and get her broad and pear shaped for the 2011 breeding season.

42. Doncaster IHS show 20/06/2010

We had a great day out at the IHS Doncaster show on 20/06/2010. Setting off at 05:00 hours to make sure we got a head start on the traffic we arrived at the venue at just after 08:00 hours. So we could have easily had an extra half hour in bed. Especially as being still early in the seaso we only had 24 leos at acceptable selling weight up for sale. So it didn't take us long to get our table set up. Overall we thought it was a good show. Also plenty of space for exhibitors. especially compared to the Hamm show where there are twice as many tables elbowed into the same space.
The good news was that we almost sold off our entire stock with 21 of our leos being sold during the show. So a big thank you to those who bought our leos and we hope they do okay. We hope to see you all again at the next Doncaster IHS show in September 2010 for which we have already booked a table.

41. It's first shed time.

This little stunner of a Tremper albino with a subtle unbroken stripe was found hatched out on the morning of 20/06/2010. The piccy shows her going through her first shed on 25/06/2010. She is the sibling of the baby in post 39. So a great genetic pedigree and het for Diablo Blanco. Incubation day was 54 and she weighed in at 3 gram.

40. Kaka hatches as Kaka is sent off!

Named in honour of kaka to mark his sending off at the world cup. hatched out 19/06/2010 on incubation day 52 weighing 3 gram. Parents are Nell a high-yellow with the Sire being either Mo a classic normal or Wizzy a hi-yellow. Doubts about the sire arise from the fact that Nell took an awful long time to drop eggs and we introduced her to a second male in the intervening period.

39. A RAPTOR has arrived?

It's patternless, it has got eclipse eyes, was born 19/06/2010, incubation day 53 and weighed in at 2 gram. Parents are Nero a Diablo blanco and Milly a standard banded Tremper albino, so shes got an excellent pedigree from which we can expect Raptors.

38. Normals het for Tremper eclipse

Two more baby normals from parents Red Ron (red eyed Tremper eclipse) and Patricia (patternless)born 17th (upper photo) and 18th (lower photo) of June 2010. Incubation periods being 57 and 58 days. Both weighed in at 3 gram.

37. Blizzard two or is it Blizzard three?

Up above is the sibling of the baby in post 36. She hatched out the following day 12/06/2010 making it incubation day 60. Incidentally that is the longest incubation period we have had to date. Her weight was decent 4 gram. Title of the post infers this might be our third blizzard of the season as we had a baby a week or so ago that we initially described as an APTOR which we think might colour up to be a Blazing Blizzard with growth.

36. First Blizzard of the season

Its been a log wait for our first blizzard hatchling but well worth it as you can see from the baby above. she hatched out 11/06/2010 on incubation day 59. Weight was 2g and the parents are Slate and Nero.

35. Latest twin set

Here a piccy of a couple of normals or possibly hypos from the same clutch. Both hatched out 11/06/2010 on incubation day 53. One weighing 3 gram and the other 4 gram. Parents are Maggie (Mack Snow bred by homegrown geckos)and Mo who is an interesting classic normal that we bought from someone in Cromer.

34. Have we cocked up our record keeping?

This little cutey pie hatced out 10/06/2010. However, not the morph we really expected hence the question about our record keeping in the post title. According to the records on the box she came out of, the Dam was Nell who is is a normal hi- yellow with the Sire being either Mo a Mack snowish normal or even Wizzy who is a normal hi-yellow. Incudation day was 43 and she weighed in at about 1.5 gram. As she is an albino that does not really seem to fit in with the parentage. Indeed, she looks very similar to the image of the baby in post 20!

33. More wild caught bloodline babies delivered from the egg

Once more Benazir and her partner Mohammad have produced us two more babies. So far this season their total prodigy is 9 out of 12 eggs. On top of this they have 2 more eggs still at mid term in the incubator. The baby in the top image hatched 09/06/2010. Incubation day was 54 and weight 3 gram. The lower baby hatched the following day on incubation day 55 with a weight of 2 gram. The later baby is a little different to all her siblings in respect to her dark banding. If you look closely you might be able to see her forward most body band is uniquely diamond shaped.

32. IHS Doncaster reptile show 20th June 2010

We will be running a table at this show on 20th June 2010. Whilst still fairly early in the breeding season we will have a small selection of our Leopard geckos available for sale. If you are going please call by and say hello.

31. First of June's babies

Our first babies born in June 2010 are shown above, both were born on the first day of the month. The top picture was the first out and is a product of Diva and Red Ron incubation day was 54 and she weighed in at 2g with the digital scale flitting back and forth to 1g. So more probably more likely to be about 1.5g. Sadly the second egg from that clutch appears to have gone a bit manky. The lower baby shown poking its head out of the egg is the sibling of the baby in post 30. When she fully revealed herself she turned out to be a standard banded Tremper albino. Weight was 3g and incubation day was 53.

30. The last of May

Just a couple of snaps of the last baby from our May 2010 hatches. As you can see from the perlite stuck to her one of the piccys was taken straight after she got out of the egg. Still a bit wet behind the ears! Never 100% sure at such an early age but we think she is an APTOR. Her parents are Milly a standard banded Tremper and the sire is Nero our Diablo Blanco who came to us from Herpetoculture, USA last year. Hatch weight was 3g and incubation day was 52. So all in all 12 babys during May 2010. We are expecting far more during June and we already have 2 Trempers that had burst on the scene this morning.
